The Role of Political Prisoners in the National Reconciliation Process

The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (Burma) has recently put out a report documenting the important role of Burma’s political prisoners in a process of national reconciliation, leading to democratic transition. A genuine, inclusive process of national reconciliation is urgently needed to resolve the current conflicts and make progress towards peace and democracy.

Partners Community Health Workers go out into Communities

Our Partners staff on the ground reported today that the last of our 61 Community Health Worker students have now been returned to their communities and have begun work. This is very exciting news as there was some concern about possible delays. Travel logistics were very difficult for some workers, especially those who had to cut down trees to make a canoe and cross the Salween river secretly just to get to the training.
